MongoDB was created in 2007 by 10gen software. It is a document-based database. It functions on the concept of collections and documents. A MongoDB server has multiple databases and offers very high performance along with the redundancy and easy scalability. Collection in MongoDB is usually considered as a group of documents databases that can have different types of fields. MongoDB is a set of key-value pairs having a dynamic schema i.e. common fields may carry different types of data and all documents kept in the same collection need not have the same data structure.Although being fresher in MongoDB language, if you are carrying experience and worked with RDBMS like SQL, then this small step will help you correlate with all terminologies of MongoDB.
