Janis opens her mouth but nothing comes out of it. The other woman doesn't share the same reaction as her. She doesn't look surprised. Doesn't look confused. She just looks tired. 

Minutes could have passed as they stood there, the two faces -the same face- looking at one another. Maybe hours. Maybe just mere seconds. Janis doesn't know. Doesn't even remember.

All she remembers is the sound of the train arriving.

And the woman jumping right in front of it.

They run for their lives but it doesn't take long to realize they can't run from their growing attraction for each other. Oof, that description was painful. This is a hobby project intended to work some creative muscles, which is why you may see iterations of the same characters in my stories. While not true fan fiction, this work is inspired by several of my favorite movies and film characters. I like to drop lines from these movies and characters as little Easter eggs. If you can spot them give them a shout-out in the comments. As this is essentially a glorified creative writing project, I haven't done the type of deep research that goes into a professional novel. I'm always receptive to constructive criticism that helps to improve my writing.

Harriet and her family do everything in there power to stay safe, but after a series of tragic events, five years passing, and Harriet being the only member of her family left alive, who now has a child of her own, a dog she accompanied along the way of survival, and a husband she fell madly for. She deals with the weight of protecting her family on her own as well as more survivors, and trying to change what brought the world to an apocalypse, back to normal.
