Dylan can't be himself at home. 

It's not a complaint, or a grievance. It is a simple statement of fact. He cannot be himself at home because he has tried, and nothing came of it. 

So he finds other ways. Throws himself into his nighttime "job" of busting heads and walking home old ladies who could use the protection, even if it's from a teenage guy in a dress. Learns how to fight, and loves it. 

He didn't expect four ninjas to come crashing into his life, much less for ninjas to be involved in anything he does, like, at all.
