What would happen to the story if one little thing was changed?

Specifically, if one girl was able to change the route of the people she knew, including herself?

Delilah Day was an enigma ever since she arrived at Nevermore; she spoke to few, and kept to herself, yet seemed to instantly gain a reputation of softness and a kind-heart.

But eventually, Delilah found herself one friend, a friend putside of the school's cold walls, and she found companionship in the one person she probably should've avoided, not that she knew that at the time.

But Delilah's impact may well alter the story as it was supposed to be, but will it be for good?
