As a huge fan of Vikings and after finally recovering this account that I thought I'd lost, I decided to write a fanfiction inspired by one of my favorite characters. I hope you'll enjoy it! Set during the era of great Viking raids, Norway is fractured, ruled by numerous warlords and clan leaders locked in constant power struggles. Halfdan the Black, known for his wild nature and thirst for adventure, has always lived in the shadow of his older brother, Harald Finehair, whose dream is to unite all of Norway under a single crown.
Throughout their campaigns of conquest, Harald and Halfdan face many enemies, but few are as relentless as the Earl of Vestfold, an old rival of their family. During one of their raids, Halfdan leads an attack on the earl's stronghold in a bid for a decisive victory. In the midst of the chaos, Halfdan encounters Ingrid, the earl's daughter-a fierce warrior trained to fight just like her father.
Captured during the battle, Ingrid is initially seen as nothing more than a pawn-an asset to use against her father. But Halfdan, recognizing both her strength and her strategic importance, chooses to take her as a prisoner. What begins as a cold and calculated move soon evolves into something far more complex, as the two discover there's more between them than just rivalry and duty.
