In this AU they live in an actual orphanage without demons. Norman has a chronic illness that is contagious, it only got bad around the ages of 8-9. He had to spend most of his time in a room of his own, not having much contact with any of the kids anymore. He only ever was able to physically see mom, but he missed his friends. Ray was more on the quiet side ever since Normans illness got bad, he never really did much or socialized because of how close they were. He's been trying to figure out a way to communicate with his old best friend, but there wasn't really any ways- Until he read in a book that if you attach two cups by a string, you can talk through it. So throughout their childhood they talked through the string cup phone, when they were old enough Norman finally realized he gained feelings for the other. He thought since Ray could see other kids he didn't like him back, but he was wrong. Isabella soon finds out there is a cure for Normans illness, but it'll be a struggle to get her hands on it. CW/TWs~ This story contains mentions of sickness, not in major detail though. The characters do not belong to me, they belong to the creator of The Promised Neverland. The only thing that belongs to me is the writing and the idea.
