[warning: on hold]

Falling for a captive enemy prince is never a good idea. Especially if you stand to lose far more than only your heart.

***

Humans are egoistical traitors by nature and can never be trusted. Sage Farun grew up with these words ingrained in his mind by his elders. The words rang ever so true when King Bertram of the humans declared war on the elves, blaming them for orchestrating the mysterious attacks on travellers passing through the Elven Wilds.

Farun is eager to join the hunters and fight to drive the humans and other threats out of his woods, if only his village elders would allow him. All he's been hearing since the beginning of the war is a resounding 'no.' But with the capture of Prince Malte, the third son of King Bertram, Farun is finally granted his chance to prove he's ready to be a hunter. He is to personally guard the prince while the village elders use their human noble captive as leverage to negotiate the end of the war with the human king.

Farun resents his duty as the infuriating and flirtatious prince's warden, but is willing to do whatever it takes to become a hunter.

What he never expected was to develop a bond with the human, and that this bond would determine the fate of humans and elves alike.

Disclaimer: this is the third instalment of a three part book series. Therefore to get the full story you should read the first two instalments, namely: Don't Touch What's His and Mine. ~~~~ Turning a human into an immortal poses serious threats to the life of that human. There's a greater chance of them dying during the transition than surviving. Then there's the risk of eternal suffering and not to mention the grief that comes with watching loved ones die and having to leave behind much of what you once new. However with Tobias' logic running at an all time low, he struggles to see through his ever-growing love for Lathaniel. He wants to stay with Lathan forever, regardless of risks or suffering. He doesn't want to leave Lathaniel with the pain of not having the love of his life around, he doesn't want that for his husband. Now Lathaniel is faced with a dilemma. Turn Tobias and run the risk of losing him early or him being desensitised to love because of grief or don't turn him and watch him slowly and painfully fade away. It seems clear what he should do, but it's a tougher decision to actually make than say.
