Who was the species that replaced humanity after their extinction? Well, there's two species that have done so: the Inklings and Octolings; cephalopod like humanoids with tentacles for hair and weapons that fire ink. Two relatively docile races that have evolved to become land dwelling creatures and build their own civilization. These two races would live together in harmony before going to war, then would go back to living in peace. But after all that, humanity still remains a massive mystery. Not a single human would be seen for the last 12,000 years, thus, they were thought to be completely extinct. But that wouldn't be the case, inside a bunker near the city of Inkopolis would be a human. The first human to be seen for the first time in 12,000 years. his name would be (y/n) (l/n) and he would be: The Last One Alive. This story is heavily inspired @AlanBall22's "Alone in a brand new world" go read it, it's an amazing story! Along with other Splatoon stories! I don't own Splatoon that goes to Nintendo.

Akikta, the last living remnant of humanity, outsmarted death; he's all that's left, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the state of Earth. Like the rest of Alterna's residents, he had a dream to see the world above. But once he escaped Alterna, he came to find the surface wasn't quite like what his predecessors foretold. After twelve millennia, life moved on and now the surface is dominated by evolved sentient sea life. To add insult to injury, practically all non-mollusks, more noticeably, mammalians, have gone extinct. Even if that makes him an endangered species, it does not deter him from his ultimate goal: to save a loved one who was thought to be long lost. With his only form of help being guidance from a mysterious man on a radio, Akikta will do whatever it takes to bring a piece of his family back and survive in this new era. Even if that means making himself out as an enemy.

So much has happened the past few years, DJ Octavio's defeat in claiming the Great Zapfish, Commander Tarter's doomsday laser, and Mr. Grizz's failed attempt to bring mammals back to the planet. Some of which could have spelled the end of Inkling-kind and the end of the world, but now a year has passed and things have finally settled down for the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Sort of... DJ Octavio is still loose, and a band of criminals and disgruntled turfers has made a name for themselves in Inkopolis. And to make matters worse, the Great Zapfish has been stolen!...again. At the same time, a few creatures, the likes of which the world thought would never see again, has stepped back out into the light to a world they are never prepared for. But there is more to these creatures than it meets the eye. Can the heroic agents of Splatoon save the day yet again? And can these creatures cope with this new world they're thrusted into. And if these two races meet, will they bide in friendship, or will someone go splat? "P.S. It has been over a year since I touched this story, I just posted it up here in case someone would like to see it.
