Wei WuXian raised his hand in front of him, floating the object that immediately captured the complete attention of all the cultivators below him. He laughed. Not the sunshine laugh that his Shijie deaddeaddead would tease him for. Not the laugh he would give maidens and vendors as he flirted to get an offer on their goods. This laugh was maniacal. More akin to everyone's perception of the villainous Yilling Laozu. His eyes were red, tears flowing, and yet there was a brilliant smile on his face for there would sooner be no Wei WuXian than there would be no smile.

"Wei Ying"

Wei WuXian looked to the source of the voice. The only one who would speak his birth name so fervently, so venerably. Lan Zhan.

A WangXian story about what could have happened.

All credits go to MXTX for the beautiful work and characters. This is just a harmless fanfic.
Credits for pictures (in the cover and unless said otherwise) goes to google images.

This is my first attempt at writing a fanfic and publicizing it. Hope to receive feedback for this lowly wanderer's work :)

Wei Wuxian was a mischievous person. Everyone knew it. Upon going into the Coud Recesses to attend the 3 month lecture, this was something Lan Zhan had learned well, especially since he himself was often the target. Still, Wei Wuxian was definitely talented, if a bit unorthodox. So, when Wei WuXian returns after ab absence of about a month, returning just in time to aid in the wipeout of the Wen Clan using some odd form of cultivation, Lan Zhan realizes something is wrong. The previously outgoing boy has turned inwards on himself. He no longer makes jokes, he smiles when anyone is looking, but the smile drops when nobody is paying attention. He laughs, but Lan Zhan knows they are faked. He flinches away from anyone, and Lan Zhan is sure that he could hear screaming at some point during the night. He is no longer creating mischief and breaking rules, and was often found alone, staring blankly into the distance. The only people who could touch him without him backing away was Wen Ning...and him. Lan Zhan realized this when he had grabbed Wei Wuxian to keep him from storming out of a room, and instead of fighting him off as he did with everyone else, he calmed. Unnerved by the drastic change in personality, and, though unwilling to admit it, worried for the slightly younger boy, Lan Zhan gets his father and brother to convince the Jiang clan to let them take Wei Wuxian back to the Cloud Recesses, under the pretence of having him attend more training, as an official Disciple in a few more months. The Jiang clan eagerly agreed, as such an opportunity was ra early given. Lan Zhan soon realizes, however, that Wei Wuxie went through far more than he was telling anyone, and that, just perhaps, Lan Zhan may be beginning to feel attracted to the boy. He wants to help him, and both boys find the road to love is not always straightforward as it seems.

However, the damage and sacrifice for the peace was too great. Cracks and broken parts have yet to be mended. Jin Ling, Jiang Cheng and Wen Ning still cannot talk much without being stabbed with the complications of their past. And Wei WuXian still cannot let go of his guilt and regrets. At such a time, happens the revival of another woman, who had died with regrets, with sorrow, with the wish to get another chance, to love, to reconcile. "Huh? I thought I died in the battle with the Wens in Lotus Pier." spoke an extremely confused Yu ZiYuan. Cheers to the lilies and the liliums, to the revival and redemption, to the light and the dark, to remembrance and reconciliation. Join Yu ZiYuan as she gets revived into another body, and roams around the cultivation world, only to meet her martial nephew, her own son, her grandson and the adventures with encounters of many people that await her. This is a work of fantiction. I do not own Mo dao zu shi or the cover page. I only edited the cover a bit and own the plot of this story and the OCs. All credits go to their respective owners.

Vengeful Spirit!Wei Wuxian AU. Put simply, if you all remember the time Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning were on the way to Yanli and Zixuan's marriage, he was shot down by several Jin's, going against given orders. Wen Ning went into a rage, killing most of the Jin's BUT Zixuan lived after Wen Ning heard the spluttering of Wei Ying, Zixuan followed him too. Wei Ying was killed, but no funeral was held, except the Wens, but they weren't allowed to bury his body as it was taken and burned; hence almost everyone, including Lan Wangji, forgot about him. The remaining Wens were killed, except Wen Yuan - who'll come in later -, Wangji found a new lover, Jiang Cheng continued his Sect Leader duties. The only ones to remember are Jiang Yanli, Jin Zixuan, Wen Yuan, and surprisingly, Lan Xichen, who is rather disappointed in his younger brother, and Lan Qiren who, despite not having the greatest relationship with Wei Wuxian, had a small amount of appreciation for staying with his nephew and his expansive knowledge. He will not, however, admit to even slightly missing the boy when asked by the older nephew. During what seems like a relatively normal day, objects go flying around and cryptic messages appear in an unidentifiable crimson liquid, scrawled and messy. How will those who forgot react, let alone those who remember? ----- Most interactions will take place through Inquiry. Fluff? Very little. A somewhat fatherly/brotherly bond between Wei Ying with Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen. Angst? Most Definitely.

"Look at how well-behaved you are, kneeling so properly." Wei WuXian was gloating, "Of course, I kneel all the time. But Jin ZiXuan is a spoiled brat, so he's definitely never knelt before. If I don't make him kneel to the point that he cries for his parents, my last name won't be Wei anymore." Jiang Cheng lowered his head, pausing for a few moments, and spoke in a soft voice, "Father came." Wei WuXian, "Shijie didn't come, did she?" Jiang Cheng, "Why would she come? To see how you lost face for her? If she did come, would she not come to your side and bring you medicine?" Wei WuXian sighed, "... It'd be nice if shijie came. It's fortunate that you didn't hit him." Jiang Cheng, "I was going to. If you didn't push me, the other side of Jin ZiXuan's face would also be ruined." Wei Wuxian was about to respond with a joke when he heard a commotion from across the cloud recesses, "What is going- Jiang Cheng!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed about to stop the younger who had fainted from hitting the ground, just to feel himself blacking out as well. .... At the same time, a group of people circled a desk and watch as a talisman ignited, one of the people with a fan covering the lower half of their face spoke, "Wei Xiong.. will this really work?" The said man, wearing white robes and a forehead ribbon with cloud motifs on it simply bit his lip. On his right, a man in purple robes with a complicated expression on his strong, defined features responded instead, "We'll have to fuck around and find out". _____ A few years after Guanyin temple, Nie Huaisang suggested time travel to Wei Wuxian, the older denied for a long time, but the more the sect leader insisted the more the the second "lady" of the lan became curious - after a few trials the two joined hands and came to the conclusion it was not possible. But they could contact the past. What would happen after they reveal this knowledge to a few aggrieved friends who regretted the past as much as they did?
