After her father dies from cancer, seventeen-year-old Olivia Campos has two things in mind: obsessing over his research of Arthurian legend, and the inscribed key he gave her seconds before he passed.

When she embarks on a trip from her home in Brazil to Wales to see a special Arthurian exhibit, she discovers the same strange words from the key written on Excalibur's blade. Mesmerized, she touches the sword, but it transports her back to the fifth century, where she materializes in front of the young sorcerer, Merlin- at the exact moment he thrust Excalibur in the stone.

Realizing that Olivia was brought by magic and destined to aid Arthur, Merlin agrees to help her return to her own time in exchange for her assistance securing Arthur's reign. However, when they finally cross paths, Olivia learns Arthur is nothing like the noble hero she admired from her father's stories-he's selfish, stubborn, and annoying.

Armed only with her knowledge of Arthurian stories, she dives into the court's intrigues, determined to fulfill her end of the bargain with Merlin. But in doing so, she discovers another side of Arthur, and they grow closer than her heart deems safe. But to return to her family, Olivia will have to risk everything to protect the once and future king-or stay lost in Camelot forever.

Disgruntled cabbies. Towering skyscrapers. Subways jammed with the hopeful and the hopeless. No, this isn't New York City. Welcome to Camelot. The year is 2023 A.A. (After Arthur) A once majestic kingdom has forgotten its noble roots and become a cruel, modern metropolis fueled by blood and corruption. The honor and justice that King Arthur had stood for is long gone. And the simmering magic that once pulsed through the kingdom's heart is now the laughable stuff of children's bedtime stories. Now, Camelot's hungry citizens cram into 3MA arenas (Magical Mixed Martial Arts) and cheer for their new knights - murderous cage fighters without a shred of chivalry. Except for 17-year-old Marlon "Prince of Punches" Ambrosia, whose father, the once great 3MA legend, Excalibur, taught him to fight with honor. That is, before Marlon's mother died and his father fled the city in mourning, leaving Marlon to raise his precocious younger brother, Magnus, all on his own. Life seems to be one broken rib after the next. Until Marlon meets Amaris, a scrappy girl possessed by a crazy idea: that she's the great ancestor of King Arthur Pendragon...and that Marlon is the long-lost heir to the legendary sorcerer, Merlin. Her plan, like herself, is barebones and unhinged: train and enter Marlon into Fantasia, the most deadly 3MA tournament of the year, defeat the reigning 3MA Heavyweight Champion, Cain "Black Heart" Santana, and win Fantasia's coveted first place prize: the Diamond Staff, a powerful talisman-in-hiding that Amaris believes is the key to awakening Camelot from its centuries old slumber. But if Marlon plans to survive he must learn to rely on more than his fists to save the kingdom, before an ancient nemesis destroys everything and everyone he loves.

Both Arthur, rightful heir of the throne of Camelot, and Excalibur have been missing since the night Camelot burned and the King was murdered. For two decades the brother of the King, Vortigern, has ruled through fear; torturing and persecuting his own people in his quest to command the power of the missing sword. A mysterious woman known only as The Mage comes to Camelot set on overthrowing the tyrannical rule of King Vortigern that has driven her people into hiding. In order to restore the throne, the sword Excalibur must be found and pulled from stone by the Born King. When she finds him however, Arthur knows nothing of his Royal birth nor the magical sword he inherited from his father nor does he have any interest in either. In order to defeat Vortigern, The Mage must not only convince Arthur to accept his destiny but, perhaps even more impossibly, trust her. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword Fanfic Arthur x The Mage
