Heartland City, known for its bright lights and even more so by its technological marvels, is home to many civilians who take residence within. However, within the darker corners of this bright landscape, a mysterious vigilante roams the streets of Heartland, protecting those who cannot protect themselves. However his burdened life of balancing this hidden persona with his attendance at Heartland Academy will eventually take a turn when he stumbles upon a card that he has never seen before.

His journey and fate will eventually intertwine with that of one of his friends, Yuma Tsukumo, an aspiring duelist who is seemingly on a quest for what are known as 'Number Cards', and through their joint efforts, they will both bring about a new era of Duelling to Heartland City.
