The last thing James "Jay" Hale ever imagined was to begrudgingly return to Beacon Hills, find out his older sister was murdered, and then be forced to go on a wild goose chase after an enigmatic Alpha that seemed to have a particular interest in ruining his life, all while fostering a very unfortunate and terrible alliance with Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski to take said Alpha down, but here he was.

In which Derek's younger brother, the Hale baby, comes back to Beacon Hills six years later and suddenly has to fight not just for his own life, but also for the lives of his old friends and classmates. Through the journey of avenging his older sister and killing the Alpha responsible for her death, he also ends up uncovering family secrets and making more enemies along the way. 

On the brink of shattering from the weight of new responsibility and unending secrets, Jay has a choice: to retreat back into the solitude he'd created to protect himself from more pain OR rise from the ashes and shatter his defences to allow his wounded heart to finally mend.
