Heatwave and Quickshadow are a happily married couple and they live in Fort Worth Texas. Heatwave is a firefighter and Quickshadow is a pediatric oncologist who works at Cook Children's hospital. They are happy with their life and soon they have a son. They name him Hot shot. They love Hot shot very much. Hot shot is growing into a very happy and active child. He loves to run, jump, climb and play. He is now five years old. Hot shot soon begins to feel unwell in May. Hot shot is wondering why he is feeling so bad. He has a headache that won't go away, he is vomiting, he is tired, he is walking funny, he is loosing coordination, he is falling down a lot, and he has a head tilt. He is feeling so bad one night his parents rush him to the ER of Cook Children's hospital. There Hot shot is admitted for being sick and was in a lot of pain. A hospitalist who is caring for Hot shot is worried and decides a scan is needed. The next morning she sends Hot shot to get an MRI. Then Hot shot is discovered to have a brain tumor. The brain tumor gets a biopsy sample. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Medulloblastoma a type of brain cancer. Hot shot is ready to be brave and fight his cancer. He makes friends with seven other kids in the hospital with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together. Hot shot is determined to kick cancer's butt. (Humanized)

10 years. 10 years of hating Griffin Taylor. Luckily for me, he lives hundreds of miles away and I very rarely have to handle the knowledge he's in town for his 48 hour visits. Some supposed best friend he turned out to be. Mum and dad would have screamed at him for hours for missing the things he did. Though, Griffin Taylor never did care about other people's feelings. I always thought I wasn't apart of that rule. That I was different to him. His best friend. His rock. No call. No text, no message through his mum or his brother. Nothing. Mine and Piper's world collapsed from under us. Total strangers on the outskirts of town showed their love and support. But Griffin? He showed up 18 months later with barely a word before taking another life altering phone call. Ass. Now, 6 years after I last had the pleasure of being in his almighty presence, Piper made the overwhelming, stupid decision to invite him to her wedding. It's fine. He'll be here for his usual 48 hours and I'll find a million things to keep me out of his way so I'll barely see him. It's fine. Not a problem. I can handle it. Quickshadow decides to take it upon herself to care for Rose while she and the rescue team begin the search for the sparkling's creators. Some of the bots aren't so fond of her plan at first. The tension between Heatwave and Quickshadow thickens when a few pent-up feelings are brought to light, and they quickly begin to realize that they need to set aside their differences (and maybe their emotions) in order to keep the team together as major problems begin to surface. Adopting a helpless, abandoned sparkling doesn't seem so complicated at first, but this one happens to have a dangerous secret, one none of them know. And when that secret casts over the team in a dark shadow with questionable motives and a mysterious links to her past, Quickshadow has to make one of the most difficult choices in her functioning: give up her one chance to save someone she thought she'd lost, or risk everything to protect her new-found family.
