Diana Holmes is a mechanic- she's an aircraft technician of the 100th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force during World War 2. She's the only woman mechanic on the sight, making her easy to spot. It made her well-known amongst the men and women of Thorpe Abbots. It made her an easy topic for Robert "Rosie" Rosenthal to bring up when he was placed at Thorpe Abbots. It made it easy for him to get to know her, for him to talk with her smoothly as she worked on his plane, his soft smile igniting her own. It also made the two become close quicker than either of them could have anticipated- it caused romantic feelings that neither of them could ignore to corrupt their minds, something new and exciting sprouting through the thick-concreted walls of war.

He wasn't sure if his body just didn't want to listen to the echoes of his past or if it was just the dark magic that cursed his ear off. Nonetheless, the boy started to lose his loud self, becoming quieter by the day because he didn't want to explain to people why he couldn't hear or why he tended to talk louder or why they had to repeat themselves several times for him to understand them. Iris Menkem lost her voice during the war. She didn't know why, maybe it was from the screaming and shouting as she tried to protect some first years or maybe she just didn't want to talk about the war and say 'I'm sorry' everytime someone cried because they lost a loved one at the war. Nonetheless, the girl started to lose her loud self, becoming quieter by the day because she didn't want to explain to people how she lost her voice or why she 'rudely' ignored them when they were talking to her or why she carried her notepad everywhere all the time. She may not be able to talk and he may not be able to hear but she her silence said everything and he listened to it intently. OC x George Weasley Post war Fred is alive. A flight nurse, specifically, where she'd be on board with the men, aiding them when needed, her skills there to help save lives that would be lost if she weren't on board. Through this process, Simone met the men she would be stationed with, being those of the 100th Bomb Group. They all seemed okay in Simone's opinion- except for one, that is. John D. Brady, the bane of her existence- he was insufferable, always cranky, and for some reason hated her before she could even have a real conversation with him. The hatred was mutual, of course- however, the hatred was quick to morph into something different, something more friendly after the two encountered near-death situations. It was something that resembled love- something that was love, and it was so very clearly the one thing that was destined to save them in the end.
