They started leaving notes to each other and Harry was intrigued by the stranger he was living with. Would they ever meet in person? I read a book once (real one, not fanfiction) with this theme and I totally stole the idea. Sorry. Purely fictional. Some smut warning.

Alex and Henry are newly engaged and planning their wedding as Alex's first Congressional election is coming up. While Henry is done with being in the spotlight, he's always knew that to love Alex, he'll have to continue to be. But as the wedding approaches, it eats at him as he realizes Alex and him want different lives. Alex, meanwhile is too wrapped up in politics to see how much Henry is suffering, and in his attempt to balance being everything to everyone, turns to vice. Alex doesn't have anything against his roommate-or his sexual proclivities; obviously, there's nothing wrong with that, but it gets to a point where almost every other night Henry has a 'friend' over and Alex has to pull out his noise-canceling headphones to be able to endure another minute in their shared dorm.
