"Britain, 1840s

Prince William Harry Harrington, the eldest son of the British monarch, stood atop the grand balcony of Windsor Castle, gazing out at the sprawling gardens below. His thoughts, however, were far from the lush greenery and vibrant flowers. They were consumed by the weight of his responsibilities, the expectations placed upon him, and the looming prospect of marriage to the Lady Katherine, a union that would secure the future of the British Empire.

But little did William know, the fate of the empire was about to become entwined with that of a young woman from a far-off land, a woman whose life was about to be forever changed by the tides of colonialism. In the Gold Coast of Africa, a region that would soon become known as Ghana, the British were making their move, staking their claim on the rich resources and strategic ports.

The drums of war were beating, and the lives of Prince William and Ama, a young Ashanti woman, were about to become inextricably linked in a dance of love, loyalty, and rebellion."

Evan Jacob Morrison, the Marquess Granfell, arrives one night at the doorstep of his old acquaintance and the village midwife, Maria Ross. Evan asks Maria to assist his cousin, Diana Thorne, who, after fleeing her home due to flooding, is in labor at his Granfell estate. After arriving just in time for the birth, Maria is inclined to stay several days at the remote country estate in order to ensure the wellbeing of the premature baby. Maria and Evan are forced to confront their past together, as well as consider what it is they both truly want for the future. A story of loss and the love we must allow ourselves to feel, even if it might hurt us. This story is for mature (18+) audiences. I will be covering a number of unpleasant topics. 14 parts Complete
(COMPLETED) It's 1817 and there is nothing more a woman wants than to marry a rich man and live a life of comfort. But not Nancy Brooks. Having spent half her life helping her mother run her laundry shop and the other half in the local library, Nancy knows what she wants, and it is not a life spent looking for the perfect suitor. Things take a turn when she delivers clothes to one of the schools she always dreamed of attending and ends up saving the day. Lord Andrew Montgomery rules almost every place he sets foot in-one of the perks of being the son of the most powerful duke of the time-and this includes Oxford. Violent and aggressive, he vows to make the life of every student who dares defy him miserable. However, when he targets the new (and first) girl at Oxford, his obsession becomes a little more than just making her life miserable. It began, he would later speculate, with a shout: the simple sound of someone shouting at him-for the first time in his life. It began, she would later speculate, with a catch: the simple movement of strong arms, breaking her fall, catching her midway. But after that, there would come many more events, and ones not too keen on bringing them together. What will they do when a powerful duchess steps in, when it seems every person is working to keep them apart? This is a story of betrayal and love, because they are not so different after all...

In truth, Lady Lavinia Antrucha was nothing compared to her sister, Cassandra. She had neither beauty nor social notoriety. . .but at least she didn't leave a trail of broken hearts behind her. She's the one people go to when they're in trouble and don't know what to do, the one who is supposed to be the stronger of the two Antrucha girls, the one her parents expect will stay with them for the rest of their lives, because what man would want to marry plain, little Lavinia? The most sought after bachelor in all of Scotland, the life of any given party, that's what they named Laird Ethan Brodi. He was the toast of high society and the man every mother yearned to see on their doorstep, asking to see their fine daughter. He knew there was something more to life than petty women who couldn't see past his fine physique, and he intended to find it; that is, until his father decided he had spent enough time unmarried and forged an alliance with the rich Antruchas by promising him in marriage to the eldest daughter who would certainly match Ethan in good looks and fine tastes. As far as Ethan was concerned, Lady Cassandra Antrucha could take a long walk off a short pier, but his father's word was law, and so to England he must go to meet his future bride. Can he go through with a marriage when his heart yearns for another? #Wattys2016
