SO...I WOKE UP IN ANCIENT ROME...and stopped the Dark Ages!
6 parts Complete Retired law enforcement agent awakens in Ancient Rome during the reign of Marcus Aurelius and embarks on a quest to stop the Empire from collapse, and finds love and fulfillment.
This was first written as a quasi-treatment for potential cinematic production. So, yes, there is little conflict, as in most such historical "what-if" works (Clemens's "Connecticut Yankee..."). But there are at least two such readily available: 1. The Senate might/would resist the suggested changes, especially the most powerful/richest. 2. Commodus might/would resist being sent away to primitive America as ambassador ( addressed in the sequel in my posted works here.) Maybe Dwayne Johnson could be enticed. LOL
At least it would NOT be based on some comic book! And the five causes for the Empire's collapse are legitimate historically. (ref. eg. Gibbon) Might learn something about our current predicament...or would we?
