Shika Uchida was raised under her mother's maiden name. Twenty-Nine years ago, while her mother was on assignment with her job, she met a man and the two slept together. Shika was born and several years later, her mother married and she was brought to Japan by her step father. She was the only daughter for Twenty-two years, but when Shika finds herself pregnant by her best friend, Rei, she steps back from her job and he steps forward into his job before eventually becoming Bourbon, of the Black Organization, she ends up raising their daughter. Seven years, when Rei comes back into her life, her daughter whom she's raised as her sister to keep her protected and at an arm's length, learns of the circumstances of her birth and Shika learns of hers. Through fellow Detective of the Metro Police Department, Sayuri Ito, Shika takes a step into darkness and is met with Bourbon's outstretched hand. She takes that shot of Bourbon and joins in battle against the Black Organization, but one misstep and the little Bambi could find herself in the cross-hair of the hunter - Gin. Rei will do anything to protect his family, even if that means working with his hated enemy, Shuichi Akai, Sayuri's boyfriend. Sayuri takes a sip of Rye while Shika takes another Shot of Bourbon!
