The ride home was shrouded in silence, each minute stretching longer then the last. I braced myself for the inevitable storm that awaited me as soon as we would reach the front door. As I shut it behind us, the tension in the air grew unbearably, and I could feel his gaze burn into my back.

Without a word Lorenzo shoved me against the wall, his grip unrelenting. The force knocked the breath from my lungs.

"Why the fuck did you let him touch you? Do you even know who that man is?" He roared, his voice echoing around the empty mansion.

"I didn't," My heart pounded and I tried to swallow the panic rising in my throat. "He was just offering me a drink an-" I had barely finished my sentence but he cut me off, and slammed his free hand against the wall beside my head.

"Drop the act, he was flirting with you - anyone with eyes could see that. He's lucky I didn't kill him." His voice dripped with restrained violence.

My defense died on my lips as his expression changed, silencing my words. His hands left my wrist, hovering mid-air as though he was fighting the instinct to tighten them into a fist again. But instead, they found my cheeks, cradling them with a tenderness I didn't expect.

His touch was soft, feather-light as he traced the curve of my lower lip, despite his fierce reputation. It was the same hands that had just snapped a mans neck, now brushing my skin like I was something fragile. Leaning in closer, his breath ghosted over my mouth and his eyes were dark and possessive.

"Baby," he murmured, brushing a curl away from my face. "I don't want anyone to take away your adorable innocence. All that is mine to touch, mine to kiss, mine to fuck."
