Bi-Han, the eldest son and heir to the ancient Lin Kuei clan, had trained his entire life to inherit the mantle of Grandmaster, continuing his family's legacy as protectors of Earthrealm. But his destiny takes an unexpected turn when he learns he is to be wed to the heir of the Lin Kuei's bitter rivals, the Tengu clan in a bid to forge an uneasy alliance. Furious and defiant, Bi-Han rejects the arrangement, fleeing his home in a storm of rage. His rebellion leads him to the Netherealm, a realm of the damned and demons, where his fate-and his very understanding of loyalty, power, and love-will be forever altered.
