Stevie Costa, a child forced into the unfortunate foster care system, didn't want her life to turn out the way it did. When her mother abandoned her with a random lady at a gas station in March of 2003, she is put from home to home with no proper love and support.

Except when she is put with the man who her mother deemed to be her father and he shows her all the love and care a child can hope for. He made her pancakes for breakfast and walked her to school everyday, giving her a kiss on the forehead as a symbol of good luck on her day.

In total, the pair had a rough 9 months together before being brutally torn apart by the rise of the dead. On the day the world fell, the man Stevie called Dad didn't come home. To her knowledge, he never left the city.

She finds herself stranded on the rooftop adjacent to their own apartment building with her bow and makeshift arrows, eating a mere five pieces of sweetcorn for ever meal.

When a group of strangers storm that very same rooftop and handcuff a man to the pipes she decorated, she decides to help them escape and go with them.

She continues to follow by their side, becoming attached to a certain member of the group. Although, the thought of her 'Dad' never leaves her mind.
