Isla and Theo were once inseparable-two souls who had the kind of love that felt like it could withstand anything. They met when they were teenagers, both at the crossroads of their lives, and their connection was immediate. Their love was passionate and full of promise, and they planned a future together, one that seemed perfect, until Theo was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

As his health declines, they are forced to confront the cruel truth that their time together is running out. But Theo, determined to give Isla a chance at a full life, asks her to promise something: that she will let go of him when the time comes, no matter how much it hurts. He wants her to live a life beyond their love.

The story alternates between the present, where Isla is living a quiet life years after Theo's death, and flashbacks to their time together, filled with love, laughter, and the growing tension of Theo's illness. In the present, Isla has moved on, or so she tells herself. She's even started a new relationship, but she can't shake the feeling that something is missing. Then, one day, she finds Theo's last letter, one he wrote to her just before he passed.

In his final letter, Theo reveals a devastating truth: he didn't just want her to move on for her sake.

He wanted her to do it for both of them because he believed they were meant to be together forever. The letter hints at something Isla never knew-something Theo didn't have the heart to tell her before he died.

Isla must now decide whether to continue living her life with the man she's with or to face the memories and emotions she's locked away and reconcile with the love she once lost. But the more she reads Theo's letter, the more she realizes that letting go doesn't necessarily mean moving on- and perhaps she never truly did.

Her mother died giving birth to her and her father never really cared, always working in his successful company. That's why she decides to go to a college away from home, something she's been dreaming of since she can remember. However, what happens when at her very first day on campus, she crosses path with Noah Allen? He is rich, popular, cold, rude and a player just to start with. No surprise she calls him Mr. Grumpy. After some not so pleasant moments and lots of glares, she tells herself that the best is to stay away from him, but it won't be that easy. After a disastrous kiss and hidden jealousy, she finds herself deeply involved into what is this frustrating boy. Add to that the fact that he is her roommates' childhood best friend and you can see drama from miles away. Noah claims to hate her ever since they met, and he doesn't mean her first day of college. He remembers her just fine from a couple of years ago and all the feelings are back. He knows she doesn't remember him and he'll use this as his leverage to do what he has to do. It's what he promised his father and himself, even if it means he has to pretend to care for her. All he cares is his family business. Luca "The Tank" Davis is a star player on the Bayview University football team, a powerful force on the field, and a guy who seems to have it all. He's got the looks, the fame, the skill, and a reputation that precedes him. Off the field, he's known for his cold, distant demeanor, and it's not hard to see why he's learned the hard way that people only want to be around him for what he can do for them. He trusts no one. But everything starts to change when he meets Isla Matthews. Isla is a quiet, invisible figure on campus who's hiding from her past. She's the girl who walks around in oversized sweaters, sits alone in the back of every lecture, and is determined to stay unnoticed. She's carrying emotional scars, and she doesn't want anyone to know. She's also never cared about football-until one day, she accidentally bumps into Luca in a library study room. They don't talk much at first, but something about Isla's sadness and Luca's bitterness intrigues the other. He can see there's more to her than she lets on. She's not chasing his fame or fortune, and that's different from every other person in his life. As their paths cross more and more-during long study sessions, group projects, and unexpected moments-they find that their pain and struggles mirror each other in unexpected ways. But while Luca's life is splashed all over social media and the front page of the campus paper, Isla remains a shadow, a quiet girl with a broken heart. The story is about them finding each other when everything around them is falling apart. It's a romance built on trust, healing, and the realization that the loudest people don't always have the deepest pain, and the quietest people aren't always the weakest.

"How many romance books do you read?" Devin asks me. I shrug. "I like them," I say. I keep browsing, running my fingers along the spines. "So, you like romance then?" he asks me. I nod. "What's your favorite part of a love story?" "I like the very first kiss, but I like the second one even more," I say. I bite my lip and look at him. Oh. My. God. What the hell am I doing? Am I flirting? I think that I'm actually flirting. With Devin. Devin, my best friend. I have officially lost my mind. I should probably stop. But I can't seem to. "Will you grab me that one?" I ask. I point above my head, my back's pressed against the bookcase. He locks his gaze on mine and reaches over me to grab the book I asked for. "Thanks." I don't move and neither does he. Riley and Devin have been best friends forever-since Kindergarten. It's Senior year of high school, now. And it's always been simple, Riley's got his back, he's got hers. But as life goes on Riley can't help but wonder if maybe he's not just her best friend, if she likes him as possibly something more. As her feelings deepen and become something greater it becomes more evident that she's falling, really hard. No matter how hard Riley tries she can't stop falling, she can't stop from loving him. Even if it tears her to pieces or even if it destroys their friendship. Pretty soon Riley is going to have to choose between walking the safe line of friendship or taking the unpaved path of love. Will she risk everything for love?

[BOOK 1] "I won't leave" I whisper, and he smiles, "I know, baby" he says softly, and my lips tug upwards into a smile. I didn't know it then, but I started falling in love with Finn Brookes, we were each other's exceptions. * * * Lily Garcia didn't come to university looking for love-especially not with someone like Finn Brooks. Beneath his cocky exterior, she senses the fractures he tries to hide-the same ones she's been running from her entire life. Finn's been through hell, and love isn't part of the plan. He's good at keeping his walls high, locking out anyone who might get too close. But then Lily shows up, and suddenly his carefully controlled life begins to unravel. She's everything he didn't know he was missing, and that scares him more than he's willing to admit. But with their pasts threatening to destroy what they could be, and old friends trying to drive a wedge between them, trust becomes their biggest hurdle. And when a new love interest steps into the picture, everything Lily and Finn thought they were building starts to fall apart. Jack spits. ♔ When Scarlett moved off to college, she hoped to start anew and find her way in this world alone. Two problems.
