In the society of the Regency era, scandals and secrets can either destroy or save a family's reputation. Penelope Featherington, raised under the care of her grandmother, decides it is time to enter society and find a husband. But her plans spiral into chaos when she is forced into a marriage with a childhood friend she barely remembers.

Colin Bridgerton, accustomed to freedom and travel, returns home to fulfill his family duties. But his brother's request threatens not only his dreams but also his way of life. He must find his sister, save his family's reputation, and face a duty he has always tried to avoid - marriage.

A Little More Convincing

9 parts Ongoing

Have you even considered that I don't want to marry you?... Colin reared back, the look of shock on his face almost comical. A Bridgerton Fanfiction. What if Penelope refused Colin's proposal after the carriage incident? What if Penelope stood firm in her refusal and Colin had to work a little bit harder for that "yes"? An alternate take going from the end of Chapter 13 of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. Book Canon with some Show shout-outs. Note: I love Julia Quinn and this book, but I always found that post-carriage scene and everything leading up to the wedding rather rushed and unsatisfying. So many things that I looked forward to seeing play out were just glanced over. I wanted a bit more out of their courtship. So I'm having a little fun, starting with his proposal at the end of thirteen and changing things from there.
