Jordan Matthews just started a new school. Again. But this time, he has made a promise to tone it down and actually try. But being just himself is new territory and he isn't sure this place will be any different, even if he is. Will they be more accepting? Will he be able to make friends? Avoid fighting bullies like Chad?

Although his expectations are low, he is determined to uphold his promise to his mom. And with the help of Mr. Summers, Danny, and a mysterious young man he meets over the summer, Jordan begins to accept himself and learn what life can be like when you accept yourself and let people in.
