SOPHIA LAURA KEENE was once a fighter. Her father, Johnny Lawrence, had been teaching her karate from the ripe age of seven years old. So she could always defend herself, he'd tell her. Secretly, Sophia knew he also wanted to teach her karate so that she'd always have a piece of him to carry with her, no matter where she went. This was especially evident when her brother, Robby Keene, decided to go with their mother during the divorce.

Since then, Sophia and her father moved to an apartment complex in Reseda. And, Sophia eventually lost interest in karate, instead fueling her energy into her schoolwork and minimum wage job. She saw what karate turned her family into, and she wanted nothing more to do with it. That was, until she met Miguel.

Miguel Diaz was their new neighbor. His infectiously kind spirit had wandered its way over to the blonde household. Sophia just couldn't seem to understand how someone could be so nauseatingly positive when living in their situations, low on money and luck.

It's officially their sophomore year of highschool, for Sophia her first year at West Valley High. Will she let Miguel's positivity infect her? Or is she just another doomed pessimist, on the same road as her father?

Peter Parker had always had his happy persona. Shining like the sun, he could light up anyone's day. He was always full of energy, making everyones' hearts melt by all those silly little things he did. Sienna Stark had been by Peter's side all the time. Always the one joking around, making everyone laugh. She wasn't as much of a sunshine as her brother, but she could always surprise with something unexpected. The two young Starks were inseparable growing up. Where was one, there was the other. Being each others support in hard times, they could get through anything together. Their relationship couldn't be stronger. Or so they thought. Then the change came. Everything turned upside down as the two young siblings got separated. Nothing was the same after that year and a half. Nothing could ever be the same. Not anymore.
