In the beginning, Zhuo Yi Chen and Zhu Yan were enemies with a blood feud between them that led him to swear to the heavens that he would take his life in exchange for the sins Zhu Yan had committed. However, things were never that simple when fate was involved and as they worked together on cases, Zhuo Yi Chen not only began to regret his oath as they got to know each other better, but also his feelings for the greater demon deepened in an unexpected way. Their fate was destined to be sad and tragic, just like the ones they had in the past as reincarnations of Ying Long and Bing Yi, but will history repeat itself or will the heavens give them a second chance this time around?

Or, both Zhuo Yi Chen and Zhao Yuan Zhou realized they had fallen for one another and try their best to change their tragic fate. Around episode 24-25 and on with some things done differently while others remain the same. Happy ending.
