Locked away in the towering prison of Monument Island, young Elizabeth Comstock had only ever known isolation, her only company being books, the ever-present gaze of scientists, and the looming shadow of Songbird. But one day, as she experiments with her strange ability to open tears-gateways to other worlds-her childish curiosity gets the better of her. She steps through one... and vanishes from Columbia.

She lands in Zaun, the undercity of Piltover, a world far different from the floating utopia she once knew. Lost and confused, Elizabeth is taken in by a ragtag group of street kids-Vi, Powder, Mylo, and Claggor-who bring her to their adoptive father, Vander, the de facto leader of the Lanes. Rather than cast her out, Vander offers her a home, unknowingly altering the course of Zaun and Piltover's history forever.

As the years pass, Elizabeth grows into a streetwise survivor, but her tears remain a mystery-even to her. She begins to see visions of possible futures, warning her new family of threats before they happen. When she foresees Silco's coup against Vander, the undercity is spared from collapse, and the events that once led to Zaun's destruction never unfold.

Yet, while Elizabeth may have escaped her gilded cage, she is never truly free. Piltover's elite take notice of her unnatural abilities, and whispers of her visions spread. And beyond the veil of dimensions, Songbird is still searching for her-a relentless guardian with orders to bring her home, no matter the cost.

As war brews between Zaun and Piltover, Elizabeth must choose between the city that gave her freedom and the past that refuses to let her go. With her found family by her side, she will fight to forge a new fate-not just for herself, but for all of Zaun.

But fate is never so easily rewritten. And in the shadows, the cycle of Columbia's prophecy still lingers, waiting for its moment to reclaim her.All Rights Reserved

Curious, Jinx climbs up to join her. The girl doesn't flinch, doesn't run, and doesn't seem to realize she is sitting next to one of Piltover's most wanted. Instead, she offers a smile, and for the first time in a long while, Jinx feels something other than the usual noise in her head. This accidental meeting becomes something else, almost an unlikely "friendship" that has Jinx question everything in her life she's built and the kind of person she's become. But in a city like Zaun, secrets don't stay hidden for long, and Jinx knows the truth could ruin everything.

Unfortunately, it happened accidentally, and just as Vi had learned her sister was seriously ill, and was finally starting to get through to her. To make things even worse, she then learns from Caitlyn that her sister will almost certainly be sentenced to death. But Vi isn't ready to give up on her sister so easily, especially not because of some topside laws. Besides, it's just concrete walls keeping Jinx in, and... she doesn't call Vi Fat Hands for nothing... This book took me WAY longer to write than I thought it would. I published a preview book for it as the second Arcane work I put out, and four books later, here it is. Better late than never, I guess. I hope you enjoy it.
