The poem "The Masked One" is a powerful and haunting exploration of identity, deception, and the weight of wearing too many faces. A soul lost in the masks of justice, vengeance, love, and wrath-shifting, adapting, becoming everything yet nothing. In a world that demands roles to be played, does the wearer of masks ever truly exist? Or are they just an echo of expectations, a phantom of borrowed identities?

I posted these poems in the order I wrote them, thus the first, nor the last is the best. I really hope these poems make you think, and here's a sample I take a look around and I see not faces but places places were faces are hid hid behind the women wear make-up to fulfill desires of their worth and to fulfill mens' distorted and impure lust the men wear masks of flesh to fulfill their rankings and to fulfill womens' false hopes and distorted dreams oh how the world would look without these masks yet this a dream forever unfilled and placed in hopeless utopian minds yet if one by one as we grew we would begin to realize make-up is mistake that we try to make up for with more of it yet if one by one as we grew we would begin to realize masks of flesh is a slash upon our own veins and only digs the hole deeper oh how we perpetuate what we hate most oh how we elevate what we loathe most take off the mask, the unbreakable mask of unbreaking wash off the waterproof make-up, designed to make-up take of the mask, and see the face see a face see your face and see how much you hate it and how much purer, prettier, and how much manlier, magnificent, it is compared to slime you coat your face with compared to lies you smear your face with yet how much better how much safer it is than the safety of the crowd the crowd of the masquerade take it off and take your pride and break it take your hate and burn it hotter and live free-er and with your hate pour it into change change yourself possible this is not to make the genes change but to make the grace change make the grace grow and in it live no matter the strength of the hate

Know Thyself - Socrates Have you ever felt like a stranger to yourself? Like you're here, but lost? Just another performing mask in a sea of faces? Another wandering being made of dust? • Finding yourself and healing amidst dark moments of life isn't the easiest experience. This journey from unfamiliarity to reconnecting with authentic self expression is what Onarietta documents in her début poetry book, A Diary of Soul. In each entry, she records new discoveries, old pains, hidden fears, joys, and hope that keeps her going, through poems and poetic prose. A Diary of Soul is a companion book for anyone that seeks to learn how to confront and comfort the dark and hurt parts of themselves. It is a guide to finding yourself and creating an identity beyond negative personal expressions and experiences. • Each part (Being, Reawakening, Refining, and Becoming) represents the ever-reoccurring cycles of growth you experience as a person, even as you learn to accept who you are, discover your potential, and grow into more authentic expressions of Self. || Original Description: A collection of poems and poetic prose. This is somewhat of a memoir. I have written these notes and poems to make you feel hope and dread, seen and heard. I have also written them to make you dream, for I shall not dream alone. I don't have nightmares...but I'm rather good at writing them. I also rant once in a while...or maybe that's what this whole book is about. I hope to sift through your head as you walk through mine.
