"Sir, the new prosecutor has arrived."

The low murmur of his man barely registered as he leaned back, swirling the amber liquid in his glass. His eyes followed the woman as she stepped out of the sleek black car, her sharp heels clicking against the pavement like a slow, deliberate countdown.

She moved with a kind of effortless confidence-carefree yet calculated, as if she owned the ground she walked on. Not many people intrigued him. But her? She was a riddle wrapped in silk and fire.

"Keep an eye on her," he ordered, voice calm but laced with something darker. "By the time I reach home, I expect a full dossier on her. Background, weaknesses, everything."

His man hesitated. "Are you... planning to stalk her?"

A slow smirk curved his lips. "Stalk?" His fingers traced the rim of his glass as his gaze flicked back to the woman. "No. I just like to know who's playing in my territory."

Meanwhile, across the street, the prosecutor flicked her gaze upward, a ghost of a smirk playing on her lips. She could feel his eyes on her, burning through the distance, studying her every move.

"Tch. Amateur."

He thought he was watching her? Cute.
What he didn't know was that she had already started investigating him.

And soon enough, she'd be the one haunting his every step.
