Zoe Cook never had much going for her except for one thing: her friendship with Phillip Kopus. Ever since they were kids, she and Phillip did almost everything together. Eventually, their friendship turned into something else, something Phillip never thought possible for someone like him: love. Their relationship was their escape from all the darkness in their lives, though most of it came from Phillip's side, but Zoe never cared about that. She loved him for everything he was inside and out, especially the side of him only she ever got to see.
Then, fate tore them apart, Phillip went to jail, and she stayed in their hometown, waiting for him to return. Now that he's back, he's got some unfinished business to take care of, and even as things get complicated, Zoe's there to keep him grounded.
