Adrian Blunt, age twenty-six, is the youngest trial judge in the state of Nebraska, in Lincoln County. He's smart, sweet and funny but very strict about his job. After being sworn in as the youngest judge in Nebraska, Adrian decides to legally adopt his little sister Katherine Blunt, age sixteen, after Adrian finds out their parents have been sent to prison for drug possession charges.

Once Adrian has officially become the legal guardian of his little sister, Adrian finds out that Katherine is being accused for murdering her drug addict mother after she's been released from prison. Now Adrian must find the accuser on who is really the one who killed their mother. But what if it wasn't what Adrian was expecting?
