The Vows We Couldn't Keep
20 parti Completa Keng, the eldest son of a powerful family, is forced into an arranged marriage with Namping, a quiet and soft-spoken boy from a lesser-known but politically significant family. The marriage is purely for business. Neither of them consented.
Namping secretly harbors love for Keng, as they've known each other since childhood. But Keng, bitter and resentful about the forced marriage, treats Namping coldly, assuming Namping only agreed for status.
Despite the coldness, Namping fulfills his duties as a spouse, silently enduring. Behind closed doors, he cries alone, while Keng throws himself into work and avoids home. What Keng doesn't know is that Namping is suffering not only emotionally but physically from a worsening illness - something he's kept hidden.
By the time Keng realizes how much Namping truly loves him - and how much he loves Namping back - it may be too late. Namping's fading body and broken heart may not withstand it anymore.
