Qin Jiu had never cared much for rumors. As a newly introduced S-Rank Esper, he'd seen enough fear and fascination in people's eyes to grow numb to their whispers. Transferred to the prestigious university for Espers and Guides-a place built to hone overwhelming power into something manageable-he expected the usual: a few curious glances, a handful of awe, and the inevitable distance people kept from someone like him.

But then he heard it.

Whispers in the corridors. Hushed voices at the end of training sessions. They spoke of them-an S-Rank Guide with a reputation colder than steel and eyes that seemed to look straight through you. Unapproachable. Terrifying. Untouchable.

Most people would have taken the warning seriously. But Qin Jiu wasn't most people.

A smirk tugged at his lips the moment he heard the first mention. Cold and scary? That sounded like fun. If anything, it only made him more curious.

After all, what better way to pass the time than by cracking the icy shell of a legendary Guide?
