The Sphinx and the Riddle of Time

The Sphinx is a short story telling the tale of a young boy who stumbles across a Sphinx in an oasis. The boy is faced with a choice - answer her riddle, or perish.

To her horror, he answers correctly and chooses to remain with her, disrupting her chosen life of solitude.

Across the years, their friendship blooms - laughter, wisdom, and quiet companionship forging a bond she never expected or wanted. But when time begins to take him from her, the Sphinx must grapple with loss, grief, and the meaning of a finite life.

Disclaimer - the idea for this short story is not mine. It's just something I found online but cannot remember username of the person who posted it. If I come across the post again, I will update with the username. I really just wanted to write the story because it was such a great idea and it stuck with me.
