Freen always believed she had time.
Time to love Becky, time to build a future, time to see the world by Becky's side.

Until the doctor's words took it all away.
No cure. No miracle. Just time.

She sat alone in her dorm, fingers tracing the edges of a framed photo-Becky's laughter frozen in time, eyes bright with love.

How was she supposed to tell Becky that every "forever" they promised had an expiration date?

She couldn't.

Becky deserved more than waiting for a heartbeat that might fail her.

And so, Freen did the only thing she thought would save Becky-she destroyed everything they had.

# Prologue **Two Years Ago** The music is too loud. I can't stop laughing. "Becky, slow down," Irin says. Someone stops me from reaching for another drink. Saint's twin. Freen. "I think you've had enough." "Where's Saint?" I slur. "Work emergency," she says quietly. The room spins. I stumble toward the exit. Three guys block my path, saying disgusting things. Freen steps in front of me. "She's with me. Back off." They don't listen until security comes. In her car, everything's fuzzy. Her gentle hands helping me to the door. Waiting while I fumble with keys. When I turn to thank her, she's so close. Gold flecks in her dark eyes. The kiss happens before I can think. Soft. Perfect. I pull away, mumbling apologies. She backs into the shadows. I stumble inside and pass out. **The Next Morning** Saint calls early. "Beck, I'm so sorry about last night. Are you okay?" "What do you mean?" "The guys bothering you. I'm so glad I could help you get away from them." I frown. "You were there?" "Of course. I couldn't let anything happen to you. I was so worried when I saw those guys cornering you. Thank God I got you home safely." My head hurts too much to think clearly. "Thank you." "You don't remember much, do you? You were pretty drunk. That's probably for the best. Just know that I'll always protect you, Beck." Warmth spreads through my chest. Saint saved me. Saint protected me. That's when I fall in love with him. **Present Day** I'm staring at my reflection in the wrinkled wedding dress. "Becky? The car is here." The car to take me to marry the wrong twin. Saint left me at the altar this morning. Gone. Now I have to marry Freen. The woman who barely speaks to me. Who avoids me. I don't understand why she dislikes me so much. In an hour, I'll marry someone who can't even look me in the eye. Someone who isn't Saint.

Prologue The rain hammered against the apartment window as Freen stared at her phone, hands trembling. Her mother's voice still echoed in her head from the devastating call. 'Mind is gone.' Her sister-her only ally-was dead. A car accident. Gone in an instant, leaving behind ten-year-old Annie. "Freen?" Nam's voice came from behind her. "What's wrong?" "My sister..." The words came out as barely a whisper. "She's dead." Three pairs of arms surrounded her as the sobs came. Nam, Heng, and Noey-her chosen family for the past five years since she'd left home with nothing but a guitar and broken dreams. Through her grief, her mother's other words echoed: 'Annie is to be in your care. Not ours. Yours." Mind had chosen her. Even after years of separation, Mind still believed in her enough to entrust her with the most precious thing in her life. But how could she? Someone who jumped at loud noises, who had panic attacks, who could barely take care of herself-how could she care for a grieving child? "I have to go back," Freen whispered. "I have to go home." Home. The place she'd sworn never to return to. Where her father's voice still echoed, calling her worthless, saying her music was a joke. "Then we'll help you pack," Heng said simply. Freen looked at her friends-the ones who'd held her together through everything. Now she had to leave them behind to face her past. But somewhere in that hometown, a little girl was waiting. A little girl who'd lost everything, just like Freen had once lost everything. Mind had trusted her with this. The sister who'd snuck into her room to hear her practice, who'd believed in her dreams when no one else did. Maybe it was time to prove that belief hadn't been misplaced. Maybe it was time to go home.

The city hummed with life. Neon signs flickered over busy streets, the distant sound of laughter mixed with the rhythmic buzz of motorbikes weaving through traffic. The Chao Phraya River shimmered under the golden glow of streetlights, as boats gently bobbed along its restless currents. Standing at the edge of the water, Freen dug her hands deep into her jacket pockets, staring at the skyline. Somewhere behind her, the world carried on-street vendors calling out their final orders, tuk-tuks zipping past, couples walking hand-in-hand toward midnight cafés. But in her head? A quiet war raged on. She was losing Becky. Not literally, of course. Becky wasn't moving away. She wasn't disappearing into thin air. Yet, somehow, the reality felt worse. In two weeks,, Becky would be someone's wife. Someone else's comfort, someone else's safe place. And Freen, for the first time in her life, didn't know how to stop herself from feeling- Feeling what, exactly? Jealousy? Pain? Love? A familiar voice broke through the noise. "I knew I'd find you here." Freen turned. Becky.Standing there in her oversized hoodie and denim shorts, looking at Freen like she knew exactly what was going on. Like she had been waiting for her to admit it. They stood in silence for a moment, the city pulsing around them, neither willing to speak first. Until Becky, with quiet hesitation, asked- "If you could wish for one thing right now, what would it be?" Freen swallowed. Her chest ached, but she still managed a smile. "I wish we never had to part." And just like that, Becky knew. She knew everything. Original story © Crazedwriter123 (Story teller)

In a bustling high school in the heart of Bangkok, two unlikely worlds began to overlap. Freen Sarocha was the quiet newcomer, a reserved and brilliant student who seemed more comfortable buried in books than surrounded by people. Her mind worked with precision, but her emotions remained locked behind walls she'd built over time. Freen kept her distance, navigating life with logic as her anchor. Becky Armstrong was the opposite-a vibrant, outgoing athlete whose laughter could light up a room. Known for her kindness and charm, Becky thrived on connections, effortlessly weaving friendships wherever she went. She embraced chaos, living life like an endless adventure. Neither of them expected their paths to cross. And yet, in classrooms, during lunch breaks, and across shared sports fields, their lives began to intertwine-sparking moments of humor, curiosity, and something unspoken. But life is rarely simple. Freen's quiet admiration for Becky began to grow into something more-a connection she couldn't name, a longing she didn't know how to express. Becky, as warm as she was, never quite saw Freen's feelings for what they were. Uncertainty grew into pain for Freen, who eventually chose to leave. Leaving the school wasn't just about moving on; it was about protecting herself from heartbreak and finding space to build the life she'd dreamed of. Ten years passed. Freen became a successful doctor, channeling her focus and passion into helping others. Neither expected to see the other again. But fate isn't bound by logic. When they meet again-a chance encounter that neither could have predicted-the years fall away, leaving unresolved emotions and unspoken truths hovering between them. What happens next is a journey of rediscovery-of who they are now and what they meant to each other then. It's a second chance, not just for answers, but for something new. After all, some connections are too strong to be left in the past.
