Innoviz Unveils LiDAR Sensor for Smart Infrastructure

Innoviz introduces LiDAR sensor in smart infrastructure applications that can detect objects at long range, is simple to deploy, and is privacy-centric for urban mobility and traffic applications.

Innoviz Technologies has introduced InnovizSMART Long-Range, high-performance LiDAR sensor designed to enable next-generation smart infrastructure applications. The sensor is meant to be used in urban areas, and it improves performance in sectors that include smart traffic management, mobility, robotics, and surveillance.

The new device integrates automotive-grade durability and high-resolution 3D point cloud technology, which has the accuracy to detect objects up to 400 meters in dust, rain or direct sunlight. InnovizSMART allows Power over Ethernet (PoE) installation, which is simple and requires only one Ethernet cable to be run to each device, providing both power and data.

Its main characteristics are environmental blockage resilience, similar tracking performance across large intersections, and privacy-oriented spatial data gathering and making it a top choice in smart infrastructure configurations where safety and data ethics are of equal concern.
