When Allyson’s pack makes a dangerous trip to Alaska, to where tensions grow between the northern packs and their own, only then does she become wary. Leaving her New York home for the one week excursion seemed exciting at first, but after becoming separated from one their hunts, she least expects to get trapped in a bear trap. But her journey does not end there, for a mysterious werewolf who she does not recognize comes to her aid. He releases her from the trap, and carries her small form to the cabin from where her pack stays. Before she can even catch his name, the man disappears with only a short warning that she should be more careful. When her pack finally returns early, after she became injured, she obsesses over the man. Despite her father’s expectations to marry her childhood friend who also carries the title of the beta in her pack, she cannot find it in her heart to do so. And when she finds her mysterious man taken captive by her pack after intruding on their land, what is she supposed to make of it? Can she follow her pack’s expectations? Or will she inevitably run away with the man whom she has come to know as her savior? And will she try to diminish the tensions between both packs? Or will she ultimately close the border, choosing one side over another?
