"It's cold." a girl roughly the age of 7 stated as she stared down at her snow-covered hands. 

'Pure white snow Miyako.' echoed a ghostly voice, strangely like her own. The girl, Miyako, looked left and right, trying to find the voice only the be met with silence. She casted her gaze back onto her hands. 

"What is pure white?" she asked again out loud. "What is snow?"

'It is...something that is not red' the voice answered. 

"What is something not red?" she asked again shifting her gaze to look up to the sound of footsteps approaching her.

"Are you lost, little lady?" asked a tall, menacing figure with black scleras and red pupils gazing down at her. 

'That is...' 

May I have a taste of your blood?" asked the mysterious figure as red wings and scaly tails sprouted from his back. 

'They eat the flesh and blood of people and their own kind alike. They are beasts disguised as humans.' 

"Then what am I?" questioned the same girl 16 years later in a city the humans called Tokyo

In a world where it's already an eye for an eye, a claw for a claw Keiko Amile, a mysterious half ghoul who craves to be free from the CCG for even a few days, transfers to Cross Academy. Leaving the 20th ward and her close friend - and cousin - 'Mina Jitsu' behind she embarks into a region severely lacking in Ghoul Activity. Will she figure out what the night class are or will they figure her out first? Also I should probably mention that Keiko and Mina are not a part of Anteiku and this story is set around the time Kaneki first becomes a ghoul and joins Anteiku [when he's still sane I guess]. However do not fret! The Anteiku crowd will not be annihilated from this story! Just a thing before you read this, I ran out of ideas for this story part-way through and the ending turned out pretty hap-hazard and rubbish in my opinion. I re-read it recently and I might re-write it soon but for now I'm just re-publishing it. Despite what the updated message will say, I wrote this back in late 2018/early 2019 or so.

The thought of death was somehow amusing in the dire situation she had found herself in, or rather, trapped herself in was a more apt description of the events that had led to this moment. "Are you alright miss?" For a moment the young lady thought she was beginning to have auditory hallucinations near the end of her fleeting life however she was proven wrong when the same voice spoke again. "It's not good to sleep in the snow miss, you might not wake up in the morning." The voice was soft and gentle which filled the young lady with an odd sort of warmth she had never before experienced. It was a voice that was untainted by the world a distinct innocence that marked it as a child's voice. How ironic that the last person to witness her alive would be one of the things she tried so hard to protect. "Hey what's your name?" The young lady managed to whisper despite the pain that came from anything besides breathing.
