Set in the world of Middle-earth, during the time of The Rings of Power, Melisane, the youngest sister of Finrod and Galadriel, unlike her sister's mind-reading abilities, possesses the divine gift of prophetic dreams, able to glimpse the future, past, and unseen realms. As a child, she was captivated by tales of dragons-creatures of wind, sky, and fire-and often dreamed of them, their power and grace haunting her thoughts. In the aftermath of the Elves' flight to Middle-earth, the loss of her brother Finrod, and Galadriel's departure to hunt Sauron, Melisane is left battling grief and feelings of abandonment. Despite her skill as a deadly commander and warrior, she struggles to find purpose, withdrawing from those who care for her as her dreams grow stronger. One fateful day, she stumbles upon a newly hatched, abandoned dragon-just as her dreams had foretold. Believing this moment signals a change in her destiny, Melisane takes the creature under her care. Concerned by her reclusive nature, Elrond, the Half-elven, and an old family friend, seeks her out and is shocked to find her raising the dragon. Agreeing to help her, he assumes she will eventually let it go, but their shared bond over the creature slowly rekindles their long-lost friendship-and something deeper. As shadows loom once again over Middle-earth, Melisane and Elrond must navigate the growing darkness, all while facing the uncertain futures that their hearts and dreams reveal. Will their newfound connection withstand the threats closing in, or will the starlight of their bond be consumed by the shadows? _ "You sleep coiled; tightly wound. Hands made fists beneath the pillows, clenched above cotton sheets. You are at war, even in your dreams, cenedril af fae nín. Let me help you."

In a world where dinosaurs never went extinct, humanity has learned to live alongside these awe-inspiring creatures, sharing the Earth in a delicate balance of nature and civilization. Nestled in a remote, uncharted region, a wildlife reserve has been established to protect both the creatures and the remnants of an ancient civilization lost to time. Jayce, a devoted park ranger with a deep bond to the creatures he protects, has always found peace in the tranquil rhythms of the reserve. But when strange disturbances begin to unsettle the park's delicate ecosystem, he finds himself at the center of a mystery far beyond his understanding. The animals' behavior shifts, unseen forces seem to stir, and previously inaccessible ruins now appear to be revealing long-held secrets. Along with Ava, a fellow park ranger with a passion for the ancient past, Jayce begins to investigate the ruins that hold cryptic clues about a forgotten era. Their search, however, draws the attention of Sullivan, a mysterious figure from an undercover organization, whose motives are far from clear. What begins as a quest to restore balance to the park's natural order soon unearths secrets that could reshape their understanding of the world. As Jayce, Ava, and Sullivan venture deeper into the ruins, they encounter ancient artifacts, cryptic writings, and a hidden force that threatens the future of both the park and life as they know it. With every discovery, they are pulled closer to uncovering a powerful truth-one that could either save or doom them all.

Erys: An Eragon Fanfiction - (Under Editing)

62 parts Complete Mature

In the time Eragon has been absent from Alagaësia, the riders have fallen to vices. Few have been able to raise to fulfill the roles the riders had originally been given, and a dark sect-reminiscent of the Foresworn-has risen to power. The cities and villages under their control live in fear, and those not already sworn to them are too weak to fight. Erys is a young girl living a simple village life. When men attack the village, her father disguises her as a young boy and makes her swear never to reveal her identity. When the marauders discover her, they take her and the other women and children hostage. Erys struggles to survive. Hiding her identity is almost impossible, and once they get her to the slave market, she would be trapped forever, and her true identity discovered. She plans her escape every night but has no idea where to go or who to trust. Her only sure plan of action is to free her mother, who has disappeared along with the other women captured the night of the attack. But first she has to escape her captors. And they have a dark secret and an even darker motive. One that would surely wreak havoc if no one stops them. Disclaimer! I do own Alagäesia. The world and this particular concept of dragon riders belong to Christopher Paoplini. The original characters, however, as well as this plot, belong to me.
