Olivia Chase, a talented but struggling musician, takes a job as a music teacher in a small coastal town to make ends meet. She's determined to save money and return to the city to pursue her dreams of stardom. On her first day in town, she literally bumps into Liam Sullivan, a charming local fisherman with a hidden passion for poetry. Despite their instant attraction, Olivia is adamant about not getting attached to anyone or anything in this temporary home. As Olivia begins teaching, she encounters Emma, a gifted but shy student who reminds her of herself at that age. Olivia becomes invested in helping Emma overcome her stage fright and pursue her musical talents. Meanwhile, Liam keeps finding excuses to run into Olivia, slowly breaking down her walls with his warmth and wit. He introduces her to the tight-knit community and the beauty of coastal life, challenging her perceptions of success and happiness. When a storm threatens the town's annual festival, Olivia finds herself at the center of efforts to save the event, working closely with Liam and discovering a sense of belonging she's never felt before. As her planned departure date approaches, Olivia must confront her feelings for Liam and the community, and decide whether to pursue her original dream or embrace the unexpected life and love she's found in this small town. The story explores themes of finding oneself, the meaning of success, and the power of community, all woven into a sweet romance between two people from very different worlds.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. @YARomance Undiscovered Book of the Month, December 2022 Multiple times featured. The magic of first love, set against the backdrop of a small island hidden beneath a mysterious fog. At first sight, the tiny Foggy Island promises Liam an uneventful summer, with the haunting prospect of starting a new school at the end of it. But does this magical, sleepy place hide something else? Is there something, someone lurking beneath the fog, expecting him? Maybe an old mystery waiting to be solved? Trigger warning: An old case of suicide is mentioned in the story. It is a part of the unsolved mystery from the Victorian Era and doesn't directly affect any of the main characters. This story was crafted around three short words : a broken key, an old book, a smell of rain.
