Depression has become the Ultimate death sentence since 2007. Many have jumped off buildings, and slit their wrists. Finally the government has decided to take action, putting the ill away. 
Its 2015, and so much has changed. Bill of rights intact, new laws, and way of living. You have no worries unless...your ill.
Selena has been through traumatic circumstances in her life, No family, and no roommate until another comes into view. 
She has to struggle from Forgiving herself, not getting caught being ill, and learning how to love. But what happens when the person you fall for isn't at all who you needed it to be? From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more.
