Madelyn Jones has always wanted to take over her aunt's bakery. For her dream to finally come true, she has to bake a wedding cake for a customer, and nail it to perfection. Soon, her original enthusiasm wavers, as she realizes she's dealing with the worst bridezilla in existence. Luckily for her, her best friend, Justin Valdez, is in town, on break from culinary school. To their advantage, he also happens to be the bride-to-be's nephew. He accepts to help Maddie out, and the pair start working on the most perfect wedding cake they can muster, so she can take the reins of the bakery she so desperately wants.
But between sugar flowers and tasty fillings, it soon becomes more than a cake, as two best friends slowly understand that there is more than friendship lingering in the air. However, both of them are scared to admit their feelings, since it could ruin everything they have. But, as they spend their days alone in a small kitchen, how long can they deny it?

"Do you know how hard it is for me knowing that you're with someone else?" Tyler asked, staring at me intensely.
"You think this is easy for me?" I asked, trying to hold back my tears.
"I didn't say it was -" he began, but I cut him off.
"It's not. I have to go around hating myself. Hating myself for thinking about you. Hating myself for wanting you. I just want to stop feeling this way." I stepped closer to him as my voice shook with every word. "I want to forget about you, but I just--." The rest of my sentence was cut short as Tyler took the final step, closing the gap between us and brought his lips to mine.
