Lift a building, breathe underwater, fly. But at such a cost? Morgan would very happily shove it back to wherever it came from. In a close future, certain children and teenagers suddenly begin to exhibit their own unique superpowers. In order to contain them, keep the secret, and abuse these young adults' power for their own advantage, the government hunted them down and opened camps to train and brainwash these 'supernaturals' in cruel ways. It didn't matter if the child was five or eighteen; they'd take them and give them the same horrible treatment. Morgan was hunted and taken. Rylie was not. Morgan Carter was put in the camps and wasn't able to come out the same way she came in. She became their pet telekinetic/assassin, ready to kill and torture without hesitation and knew how to. She forgot her old life, including her name. Rylie Garner paraded as Light Glider around his city-their own personal superhero-escaping being caught with the help of his friends while trying to find his little supernatural sister, who was taken. Too smooth and white. Colorless, in fact. Except for when my veins began pumping brighter and brighter the more panicked I became. My once grey eyes were now a burning red. My short hair, long. This wasn't my reflection. This was a monster. A demon. I fell to my knees and held my face in my hands as fire began erratically bursting from my skin, only terrifying me more. I felt a hand gently pull my hand from my face and held it tight. I looked up to see Luthor, the surprise calming my sporadic flames. His face was genuinely sad even as he winced from my heat. Wanting to be a superhero and becoming one, are two completely different things. But becoming the opposite? That's way easier. And sometimes it's not on purpose. Fate didn't want me to be a hero. I was a fairly normal girl, growing up in Central City. A city where superheroes and super villains didn't exist... until the particle accelerator exploded. Many people were turned into these metahumans, me being one of them. Likely one of the only changed nine year olds at the time. My parents were both scientists for Star Labs, being two of the many others that died in the blast. Needing to get away, I decided to move to Gotham. A good city to hide in. Maybe it wasn't the best city to move to, but, in the end, I'm glad I did. In the crazy town, I was adopted by the two craziest people there. The Deranged Duo, Harley Quinn and Joker. "Rescued by villains, who knew?" I say. "Villains rescue fellow villains," Joker says. "Sounds funny coming from you," I scoff. "Aww, is that the way you should treat your saviors?" Joker teases. "I could've taken them," I scoff. "Why did you save me?" "We watched you take out the last group of thugs," Harley says. "We've been looking for a protégé, sorta like how Batsy has that sidekick, Robin, was it?" Joker grins. "We like you. You're funny." ... Roughly 200 years ago, scientists opened a hole in reality. From it, many monsters, and eldrich horrors escaped with their strange powers. It took many years of battle for these monsters to integrate into the ecosystem, for better or for worst at the cost of many lives. But these monsters were still a threat that possessed a power humanity wanted. Thus project Zodiac was created. The goal was to infuse an army with the monster's magic. But after only 12 survivors out of 12000 participants, the project was canceled, and the 12 were set loose. But most of the 12 freaks were unsatisfied, leaving them to do something drastic for them all to find out who's "King". Subject 666 code name "Cobra" has accepted the mission to assassinate his "Siblings". But who knows... Perhaps he's after the title of "King" himself.....
