I am a descendant of the Carstairs family. My great-grandparents, Tessa Gray and Jem Carstairs, is my only family still alive. Well, other than my sister Emma Carstairs. Originally, I thought I was an ordinary 17 year old girl living with the only family she's got left, even though they look like they're in their mid-twenties. It was only when they gave me an address and told me to live in this building.

"Why?" I asked Grandpa Jem.

"You need to find out who you are." Grandma Tessa told me. Jem then took her to the side and I caught some of their conversation.

"Why can't we take her?" Tessa asked. "If we tell her who she is, the clave will strip her marks." Jem said.

We drove to this giant building with a beautiful design on the building. It overlooked the green sea and had a pretty ocean type of building.

I went up to the door and knocked.

"My name is Emily Carstairs."
