You know who the Avengers are. The people or things or monsters that save the earth multiple times without looking for any recognition or reward ever. People who risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of lives all across the galaxy. These are the heroes of earth. The people who want absolutely nothing in return but risk everything they have. But maybe risk isn't the correct word, they sacrifice what others can't to give people a better future. Sacrifice. There has always been many names over the years as to who and what heroes are made of, I believe that a hero can truly be anyone. And if someone has the slightest amount of heroism buried deep within them they can choose to be a hero, but choose is the real word here. It's a choice, a choice no one else can make for you. You must make the decision to be a hero yourself. That's what the Avengers did. They threw away their differences, their beliefs, their modest opinions, and even the darkest secrets of their past to be heroes. Avengers have fought alongside many other mentionable groups of noble heroes as well, The X-Men, The Guardians of the Galaxy, The Fantastic Four, Power Pack, and all the others. The original Avengers started this super hero crazed world. But who were they truly?
The Soldier, Captain America.
The Spy, Black Widow.
The Knight, Iron Man.
The Archer, Hawkeye
The Monster, Hulk.
The god, Thor.
These are the people that came together and started a hero revolution to band against the evil that prevailed throughout all of earth. But this is, I tell you, is not the story of the super hero group called The Avengers. This is the story of vengeance being avenged. Whether human, super human, mutant, monster, inhuman, or uniquely altered in some way...whomever they are they can be heroes. So this, is not the story of the Avengers that came to be so much more than such a simple name. This is the story of the Ultimate Avengers, so please Avengers...avenge.
Retreat.
That word was not in my vocabulary, but it was the only thing we could do. If not, the Avengers would be lying dead on the grass behind the White House. Loki would televise it and reign terror upon the world.
We weren't going to give up. Not now. There was too much at stake. The weight of the world sat on our shoulders. We determined the future. We just needed more heroes.
A trip to my childhood home had been long overdue, but I didn't want it to be because of a war. Xavier's School for the Gifted gave young mutants a place to go when they were shunned. It gave them a future. The Avengers and the X-Men had to keep that future alive by taking Loki and his team of villains down, even if it meant laying down our own lives for millions of others.
Loki thinks he's won, but the war isn't over yet.
