Adelaide Rolf is losing everything. Her family was first. Her pride was second. Her free will to marry for love is next. If she cannot solidify her friendships with the other Lords and Ladies of Arifald and overthrow the King's rule, she will have no choice but to marry him, the very man responsible for her losses in the first place.

Calcaneus DeMurr is proud. His parents were killed in the Revolution, and now his sister Cecily is all he has left. But Calcaneus has a plan to gain power over the most powerful man in the world: the King. The only problem is, he needs to marry his sister to the King in order to complete it.

Pyralis Carisio has been struggling to govern her lands with her older brother Evan, who is doing all he can to prevent her from seizing her proper and equal place on the throne. When she discovers his plan to sell her to the King, she is determined to gather all her allies and lead an army against him, family or not.

Stephan Peverell shut himself in the North for years after the Revolution. But two things are inviting him to gather an army and leave his secluded life: the hand of Cecily DeMurr, and the injustice of the King.

Evan Carisio has been forming a master plan for years, a master plan to gain power and claim himself as King. In order to do it, he needs to clear his way of obstacles. His only obstacle is his one and only ally, Calcaneus DeMurr.

The Revolution overthrew all peace and trust. The Lords and Ladies of Arifald no longer know the motives and desires of the people who were once their childhood friends. Old alliances are broken as sinister plans and murderous goals are revealed. On top of it all, there is always the fear of the King's Rage, the two most fearsome assassins in the King's guard. One wrong move can mean death in the middle of the night, or war the next morning.

Iris Theren has grown up in a small town near the Niam River her entire life. Composed of under 200 people, you'd think residents would know who she was, but her parents have made that impossible, going so far as to not even report her birth when it occurred twenty-three years ago. Cetus and Cassiopeia Theren at one point imagined themselves to be esteemed members of the court, but they overheard whispered questions regarding their loyalties to the crown. Thus, they left Remalna-city years before Iris was born. Their resentment and dislike of the Renselaeus family traveled with them. In their minds, it was the Renselaeuses who caused their fall from "grace" and "good-standing." Only a minor detail that no one truly liked them in the first place. From the moment they left Remalna-city--from the moment Vidanric Renselaeus ascended to the throne with his wife, Meliara Astiar, at his side--they quietly plotted their revenge. Alaraec Renselaeus, firstborn of Mel and Danric and crown prince of Remalna, has now seen twenty-four name days. The exact year the prince is traditionally determined to be old enough to take up some of his royal duties...including finding a potential bride. And thus Cetus and Cassie perceive the moment to strike has finally arrived. NOTE: The setting, history, a couple of the characters, and some of the concepts in this particular story are inspired by Sherwood Smith's novels Crown Duel and Court Duel. One Day More (working title) occurs twenty-five years AFTER the conclusion of Court Duel, basically an alternate future outside of Smith's Remalna's Children novellas.

"Cal, we all have secrets." "Even you?" "Even me." **** Like most of her family, Calya Everson is an empath. Born with the gift of Illusion, the power possessed by a select few of the Nobility, she can feel the emotions of others. And as the third in line for the throne with stronger senses than anyone before her, she knows she could pose a threat to the seven regions, to her family, to everyone. That's why, for months, she refused to use it and kept her sixth sense silent. But things are changing, and when the return of her older brother and a meeting of all the rulers forces Cal's hand, she has no choice but to use her gift. And the scary thing is, she doesn't mind. General Atlas, firstborn to the King and dearly departed Queen, the heir to Harmonia, fears Illusion. Born without any special power, the sole exception of his family, the nature of Illusion is a mystery to him. He knows what challenges will await him when he takes his place as King, as the first ever ruler of Harmonia who lacks Illusion. When Cal's Illusion thwarts a planned attack on the castle and everyone in it, both Cal and Atlas are forced to flee from the castle for their safety. By order of the king, they're instructed to flee the palace and find the "safe haven," a small cottage on the edge of two of Harmonia's distinct regions. But as a truth about the Queen resurfaces, Cal and Atlas begin to realize that their little escape mission might hold the key to saving the kingdom - or destroying it. The wolves are dying. When the vampires took over, the ancient race of shifters dwindled rapidly. The fought hard, but they were no match for the strength and numbers of the vampires. Then, they ran. Settling deep within the mountains, in the tunnels where a steady network of caves ran underneath a dormant volcano. Little did they know, the loss of the forest took a toll on them. Disease swept rapidly through their numbers, but their ability to shift dwindled until they could hardly even feel their wolves. Until finally the entirety of the power itself was snuffed out, rendering the remaining wolf-borne human. Well, all but one. The princess. Having reverted back to her true name while running for her life with a few hundred slaves at her back wasn't exactly easy for even the most seasoned of wolves. Especially since the one person she was running from could track her anywhere in the world. But there are things about the wolf princess that Elizabeth doesn't know, a wild untamable power seeking to be released just below the surface. Over the last two hundred years, her father has been reclaiming his kingdom, piece by piece. He has gathered allies from all over the world to fight the deadly vampire queen, Ravenna and her family. Tasked with the heavy burden of keeping her pack safe, along with tending to her broken soul, will she ever be the queen her people need her to be? One crazed queen, chasing down her mate. Another crazed queen, chasing down a weapon. Who will get there first?
