Sixteen year old Korina Shade lost her parents in a car crash. Since then it has been her and her brother until he, too, falls victim to the same fate. While he lies on a hospital bed in a coma, Korina uses an old book of magik belonging to her mother to try and revive her brother. She finds herself in the land of the dead, negotiating the terms of her brother's life with the Lord of the Otherworld. Agreeing to work for him side by side with his son, Jason, Korina is thrown into a life of hunting demons. But her brother, as she discovers, was not the only person revived with the spell in her mother's magic book.
Now Korina must choose between a life saved or a life given to bring back from the dead.
