Little Theodosia has just turned twelve, and is living her dream of going to school and learning to fight. She wants to rule her people, she wants to end the war that has destroyed her hometown. When Theodosia graduates, no one is there but her mentor and herself. She receives her first assignment alone, in an empty room. She feels alone, too.
When the plague strikes, Theodosia is alone. When she gets sick, she's alone. And when her world flips her head over heels, she is most definitely alone.
But does she have to be alone?
