Falling apart. Join Scott and Abby as they decide what's not only best for each other, but also what's best for themselves.

A/N: I wrote this summary really quickly because I wanted to get this chapter posted as soon as I could. It's not my best summary but any of my readers coming from the first book, you should already understand the basis of this story. So there's really no need for a summary anyways.

Year of the Chick (book 1 in the "Year of the Chick" series) by romimoondi

[NOTE: This book was written in 2010, a time of long-distance phone cards, weight-loss obsessions, and searching for a man as a solution to life's problems-what a messy time to be alive! In other words, I hope you enjoy this throwback, and while this book does end on a cliffhanger of sorts, the sequel addresses any unanswered questions (which is hopefully fair, given that book 1 is free, ya know?] An awkward family homecoming at Christmas. A humiliating public weigh-in, with two judging parents as the audience. The announcement of a deadline for arranged marriage doom. And that's just the first two chapters. In "Year of the Chick," Romi Narindra must find love before her parents find her a husband. Easy to say, less easy to live through, as this book takes you deep inside "awkward Indian living in the West." To escape her fate, Romi wades through the waters of secret-dating, where self-consciousness is at an all-time high, and experience at an all-time low. It's the sort of thing that would turn almost anyone into a man-crazy freak with romance tunnel-vision, and that's exactly what ends up happening. All the while, a lack of inspiration in her corporate job leads Romi to her love of writing, in what quickly becomes a man-quest play-by-play. From whiskey-breath scum bags to uni-brow creeps and everything in between, Romi and her wingmen come up empty time after time. And that's when she meets a fellow writer. On the Internet. So will it be arranged marriage doom, or an Internet affair that's not as creepy as "To Catch a Predator"? Time will tell in the "year of the chick," a twelve-month quest to find love. Tick-tock. --------------------------------------------- "Year of the Chick" is book one of a series, and book two is available at Amazon! LENGTH: 75,000 words or 285 pages DISCLAIMER: this book contains profanities, blunt accounts of the dating scene, and many awkward family moments. Enjoy!

"You have no idea how badly I want to make love to you," he responds with a shake of his head. "I love you so much," he continues and my heart melts. "I love you," I whisper back. "Okay, I'm going to make love to you now, Angel. It will hurt a little, so let me know if it hurts too much," he says and leans down to kiss me. "I'll be gentle," he tells me. Keeping his eyes locked on mine he shifts his hips forward slightly and enters inside of me. My mouth widens as he enters, and I feel a slight pinch. He was right, it does hurt, but it's not terrible. "Christ! You're the sun!" he calls out. I watch his face crumble. He buries his face in my neck and then he's above me again, his hands on my cheeks again. ... For 20 year old Alison Scott, love was never something she deemed herself worthy of. Not until he came along. With his tousled brown hair, lean muscular body and smile that ignited everything south of her body; he was unbearably attractive and intimidating to Alison. She thought he could never be interested in someone like her, until he was. Was living in the same household together with someone you want and need such a great idea? As they embark on this journey together, Alison discovers her own desires as well as all the secrets Isaac keeps. You will become addicted to Addicted. The Girl Who Stutters and The Boy Who Mutters

76 parts Complete

Abby has always just been identified as stutter girl. Her high school life was a complete disaster, she lived in her sister's shadow the entire time and any chance she had at having a social life was brutally murdered after Scott Rogers mocked her about her stuttering their very first day of freshman year. Scott is the quote on quote 'bad boy' of the school. Or at least that's what everyone else has him pinned as. He may be a huge flirt, but he sure doesn't sleep around. He genuinely only made fun of Abby that first day because he was curious, but then again with Scott his curiosity isn't always what he should lead by. Of course Scott and Abby went their separate ways after Scott got kicked out several weeks after the incident, and Abby was eternally grateful for that. She thought she'd never have to see her bully again since he had been shipped off to private school. But then college came along and with college comes new people...and maybe even a few old ones. What happens when not only are Scott and Abby reunited but they have to share a room? Could it be love? Hate? Follow Scott and Abby as they explore feelings they never thought they'd ever get the chance to experience and maybe even more than that. 9/21/17: #1 in Chicklit
