On an unfortunate evening in Atlanta, Tara Chambler crosses paths with Rosita Espinosa and falls victim to her one-woman heist. The tension between the two of them is broken off short when disaster strikes the city, and both the girls are left to fight their way through life, until they meet again, both changed unrecognizably.

Rosita Espinosa is a young woman living outside the law before the world she knows gets taken over by the dead. Where she once enjoyed making a name for herself as a notorious thief and killer, she is now confronted with a world that has little thrill to offer. Is she really invincible? With no choice, Serina has to leave the only home she's ever known, and flee the city along with her sister, nephew, and her brother in law's best friend. They set up camp and try their best to live a peaceful life whilst the world as they know it, succumb to the walking dead. Serina must accept the rules of survival in this new world, while trying to protect her family, and withholding the morals she had in her owl world. She must soon come to terms with the fact that in this new world, it's kill or be killed, something the gentle-hearted girl must overcome, before the new world ends up breaking her.
